Mac Pro - Afterburner Card make any difference?

Quick question and I think I already know the answer. Does/could Screenflow benefit from using the Afterburner card at all whether during editing, playback within Screenflow or exporting?

Not as of yet but perhaps the developers will see a potential. Please do fill out the form and make the request.

Given what the card does: accelerates ProRes and ProRes RAW video codecs and playback of up to 6 streams of 8K ProRes RAW or up to 23 streams of 4K ProRes RAW and need faster transcoding and sharing of ProRes and ProRes RAW projects and files. One would have to assume this would have to become a more common occurrence in ScreenFlow.

Are you currently shooting ProRes RAW?
Are you using a lot of layers of video files in ScreenFlow?
Do you need to export ProRes Raw or need faster ProRes export in ScreenFlow?

    • CraigS I use the built in capture for screen and web cam. Though I am shooting with a Sony A6400 via Elgato CamLink.

Off topic, is there a way to capture a second web cam? I have an additional Web Cam and Cam Link and would like to get a second angled shot at the same time. I could just hit record on the second camera and then match up the two, but that would be a pain.

Not at this time but it is a requested feature. Can you fill out the form and tell us why you need the feature. Of course it may be obvious to you but the developers like to better understand the user base and their workflows that would use this.

Since ScreenFlow can capture your iOS device at the same time it captures a webcam you could use your iOS camera with a third party "clean interface" app which would give you a second camera.
