Blurry Trails

We've been using Wirecast with three PTZ cameras via NDI with no problems for about six months. Suddenly, we started experiencing issues with blurry trails showing up in our live streams and recordings in Wirecast.

We don't see these issues when looking at feeds directly from the cameras so we think it's a Wirecast issue but we're tried everything and we're stumped.

Any suggestions?

Since this didn't exist previously, what changed?
You don't mention Wirecast updates or document updates or camera updates so it's hard to determine from your description.

What version of Wirecast was it good with?
What version of Wirecast did you see the issue with?

In order to troubleshoot I need to determine which "path" to down.

  • That's just it. We don't believe we made any changes. We just suddenly started having these problems.

Tony McCollum Please confirm you are using Wirecast 14.2.1 or otherwise post the version number.

Check the NDI camera source in the free Newtek NDI Studio Monitor running on the same computer as Wirecast.

After doing that check in Wirecast Live Area without streaming or recording and see how it displays.

  • I don't know what cams you are using. But if they have a webUI or OSD try changing the DNR (Digital Noise Reduction). I get trails if DNR is on.

Second option is rebooting the cam. Can just be a problem with encoding.

See if Studio Monitor shows the same issue. If, check on your network. You can flood the network quickly with using NDI. Try to reduce the network load. Start with just a single NDI then add more and see what happens.
