How can I match a timeline clip to the original content?
I added some audio and video to the timeline and made several edits. It turns out I made too many edits and want to re-add the original content. Unfortunately, when I go to the context menu for the clip on the timeline, there does not appear to be an option like "show the media in the library" option.
There are some visual cues, but as you can see in the attached screenshot, the items in the timeline are only named by the date, not the time, so I have lots of "Screen Recording 7/12/2021" items.
How can I select a piece of media in the timeline and match it to the corresponding media in the Media Library?

Unfortunately, there isn't an option in ScreenFlow to select clips in the timeline and then have the corresponding clip in the media library be highlighted. This would be a great option to have and it has been brought up to the ScreenFlow team (internal reference FLOW-5317).
To give more gravitas to the request please send the ScreenFlow team a feature request and be sure to mention this thread in the support ticket ( http://www.telestream.net/telestream-support/screen-flow/contact-support.htm ).

That's too bad. Seems like an important feature. Unfortunately, I will not use that form because it is not backed by SSL/HTTPS and is an insecure form.

For best organizing, you may want to Rename the clips in the Library.
Clips in the Timeline will then match the source in the Library.

CraigS that’s useful to know thank you. I spend a lot of time perfecting my recordings and feel this is an extr step that should not be needed but I appreciate the idea

Bill Raymond Naming clips is a standard editing program workflow (not unique to ScreenFlow) and it is good organizational practice. It's always an extra step unless you want auto naming but such functions generally just add a number so aren't very descriptive or useful for organizing.

CraigS I hear you, but I am often doing multiple takes to try out different ideas and will frequently remove content from the timeline and move on. There are random times when I want to find an old piece of content, so if the auto-name simply had minutes and seconds in the name, that could easily solve the problem. There is also something to be said for easily matching something selected in the timeline to the original content (or vice-versa).

Bill Raymond We're looking at a "match frame" type function but naming clips does work (yes it's extra work) in the meantime. We're also looking at time stamps in the recording name FLOW-10909
