Feature: a larger/adjustable video output in recording 'monitor' and 'configuration.'

I hired a lighting professional to come to my studio and help set things up.

It was hard to tell what was going on.

Instead - we ended up recording for 20 seconds for each change in lighting and then compared. Did we miss an option? If not, I suggest that this recording monitor and recording configuration screen be scalable - or have some option to see the video full-screen - in the proper definition for setting things up.

  • I can see the value in this. If you want to use a second monitor as "confidence" you may want to make that full screen even while recording from the first monitor.

Fill out the form for the feature request as well and we'll send you a case number that may facilitate further communication if needed.

  • I use OBS to solve this problem, you can have a view of a camera on a second monitor.

  • you can also use "Visualizer" (free) from Ipevo. It has some handy overlays like a grid.

  •  just to show how small it is... - it's even smaller than the on-camera view...

sheriffderek Given ScreenFlow's GPU dependency consider the impact it might have on system resources. We examine these requests carefully and some come with a significant cost.

    • CraigS If that's the case - then make it smaller! : )

On a serious note though - I totally understand if that's the case / but from my limited knowledge - I don't think that the size of the box has to do with the resolution of the video. If it does - then I'll believe it! But - I'm just nudging a little because I really truly believe that it's just something that just wasn't noticed.

sheriffderek While size and resolution are separate functions they both might be impacted by system resources. We look at this with Wirecast as well. The developers will examine and decide how they might handle it.
