No Monitor Output for Gear 420

Is this your main monitor or a second monitor?

Which might mean something installed is at issue. Did you apply the patch using Gear's Windows updater or did you get it through a web search?

 Try booting in Safe mode to be sure.

You could try installing the GPU driver (this should work with your Gear).

 I wonder why that's not consistent. Has this always been the case or just since the Windows patch?

It might be best to use the Gear restore and get back to the Gear system default.
