Failed to connect to (Node Control). Unknown error

I seem to have this problem and have followed the solution to delete the following files but that didn't solve the problem for me.

User/Library/Application Support/Episode/Assistant.plist
User/Library/Application Support/Episode/Assistant.xml
User/Library/Application Support/Episode/IOServer.plist
User/Library/Application Support/Episode/IOServer.xml
User/Library/Application Support/Episode/Node.plist
User/Library/Application Support/Episode/Node.xml

OSX Version: 10.11.4 (15E65)

Episode version: Version (7423)

Anyone got a solution? I just purchased episode and installed it fresh and this was the first message I got on startup

  • One more test, just incase something was missed. Create a New User Admin account and test there. That will tell us whether it's a user or system related issue.

  • Hi Craig,

Created a new admin user account. It has the same problem.

    Here is message 1

Exception when sending *login_sync(...), login type = 2.

    Type:connection timeout

    Message:connection timeout.

    And here is message 2

Failed to connect to (Node Control). Unknown error

  • So it seems to be system related. Although not common on Macs, do you have an virus checking software running? It's odd you would have this problem in a new account.

    Try deleting

Yet all these solutions we found are account specific.

  • Great. This worked for us.

    Thank you for your help

  • Mariona Cid Great to hear. You're welcome of course.
