record audio from more than one source

currently if I want to record audio of my computer (using focus rite claret 8prex) I have to send audio of my computer through the claret and everything ends up on the same track as my iglasses . not on the screen captured video. this makes it harder to sync things as before I could record my "computer audio" and that was my audio interface (at the time NI Komplete audio 6) while I could set the alternate audio source as the mic on my web cam so I could easily sync the two shots even if one had a delay. now I have to use my audio interface and have no second option (webcam mic)...

ScreenFlow can record Computer Audio and One External Source. Many DAWs don't use Apple's System Sound (Computer Audio) though. There's certainly other users with your workflow who'd like the ability to record multiple sources independently.

If you would like ScreenFlow to support multiple external sources please do fill out the form and request it. You can link to this forum so they can understand your workflow and why you need it.

  • Set up an Aggregate Device in Audio MIDI Setup, and set that as the audio device being used to capture audio and you'll get alllll the channels (assuming you have your aggregate device configured as such)

Notice my aggregate device has 20 inputs (iMac Mic + Symphony's 16 inputs + iMac Line input), and that they all show up in Screenflow.

Now if we could just export from screenflow individual mono audio files for mixing in a DAW...

Charles Schiermeyer Excellent workflow tip. Thanks for that. Perhaps in a separate thread make a request for separate audio channel outputs for DAW work.
