No audio on the playback while on the Screenflow program

On a macOS Sierra 10.12.6 no audio problems with any other programs. I cannot hear any audio playback, even though you can see the meters and the computer volume all the way up from this screenshot. When exported to youtube you can hear the audio. I just can't hear it through the Screenflow program while working on it.

    CraigS I am using SF 9 now. And the Bluetooth lavalier mic is plugged into the iPhone's headset jack (which works for plain iPhone audio recordings & videos).

    So, let me ask as well, when I record from my iPhone, should the iPhone video recorder be on as well?

    I appreciate your attention to this, as I just paid for the upgrade, and still don't have full functionality.

    AJ Baltes I finally found the solution. Recording from the iPhone means to PLAY an iPhone recorded video into Screenflow, not to RECORD a video via iPhone into Screenflow. Thanks for all your followups, you helped me to get it right.

     It's not at all clear that's what you were doing. To capture anything you must always play. Sorry if that was confusing.

  • I am having this same problem - though only after I upgraded from 7.3 to 9.0.  I  went into the security permissions as suggested above to make sure that wasn't the problem and it appears that screenflow 7.3 is allowed - but I can't see 9.0 to check it and allow permission (I am on a mac).  How do I get 9.0 to show up and get permissions to access my speaker?

      Rochelle Greayer Current version is 9.0.4. Unfortunately, the versions aren't labeled in macOS Security & Privacy so you may want to uninstall and reinstall and it may again ask for permission when you attempt to access.
