Adding sources to A B template in Wirecast 8

Can't figure out how to add a source to A part or B part of a template. Created a shot, added two sources, changed a template to "side by side". See my sources in the shot, see two placeholders - A an B. But sources don't add up to placeholders. Anyone? Thank you!

  • Select source A or B from the shot editor panel, right click on source, then select from menu of options...ex., camera input, media, screen share...etc. When you have made your selection source A or B will now contain your new input.

  • talrmde That is what I tried to do. BUT - when I right click on the placeholder it becomes blue, so it is selected, but it does not open any menu. That is where I got stuck...   I am using Macbook with High Sierra. Thank you for your help!

  • Ok. I just opened Wirecast and tried the same thing, it worked for me. Try right clicking when the source is highlighted grey, rather than blue, see if that works?

  • talrmde No, it does not (  When I right click on it it becomes blue. It is gray (more like white in fact) when I click on the A or B on the preview screen. But either way it is not showing me menu.  Can't figure out what may be wrong. Reinstall Wirecast? But it is weird that this only option is not working.

Perhaps you have a specific issue with your system?
Try reseting Wirecast Preferences. Wirecast > Help > Send Support Information but click on the lower left Reset Preferences. Then open Wirecast and test in a New Blank Document.

  • CraigS  Yes, Control-Click is what I do. Thank you, but no luck.

  • sviatoslav raikov Something about your system is preventing it. Do you have anything running in the background? Are you using a localization? Try switching to English if possible.

  • CraigS mm...  on a background I have just Chrome, Sound Syphon, Audio Hijack, Skype...  any of this may matter for drop down menu? Will try to open up Wirecast only and see what happens. Localization - you mean language on the OS? It is English. I use another language on Wirecast titles though. But that should not interfere, no?

  • sviatoslav raikov If the OS and Wirecast itself is English that should be OK. Reboot the computer making sure nothing is running in the background and test both the Shot pull down (which I assume is working) and then the pull down menu after adding the placeholder template.
