Wirecast dBFS Scale

I cant seem to find anywhere which standard Wirecast 15 uses for its dBFS scale. Does it use EBU R68 or is it SMPTE RP155.

  • Yes, but what alignment is it? Is it using the European standard or the American standard? Where is 0dBU mapped on the scale? If 0dBU comes in at -24 its SMPTE RP155, or if 0dBU comes in at -18 its EBU R86. Which one is it? That isn't in the manual, as far as I can see. :)

So for example 0 dBU shows as -4 dBVU EBU as described in NDI 1kHz Test Tone.
+4 dBU, 0dBVU SMPTE shows as 0 dBVU SMPTE.

      Roman Turney said:
If 0dBU comes in at -24 its SMPTE RP155, or if 0dBU comes in at -18 its EBU R86.

But that's not the case using NDI 1kHz Test Tone generator

Roman Turney NDI test tone should be correct.
As per above +4 dBU is 0 dBVU SMPTE.
0 dBU is -4 dBVU EBU.
We don't have any further documentation on that.
