Freezes while scrubbing and playback

Hey I'm using Screenflow 9.0.3 on an

iMac Pro 2017 27 inch
macOS 10.14.6.
2.3GHz Intel Xeon W 
128GB DDR4
Radeon Vega 64 16GB.

 

I've got about 500gb of free disk space and blackmagic disk test seems to indicate my drive is fine. My screenflow constantly freezes whether I'm just scrubbing the timeline or playing back. This seems to be happening regardless of what I'm editing (desktop recording, phone screen recording, imported footage...). Have re-installed and restarted. Have attached an image of other apps running if that helps.

 

Has this been encountered before?

  • I have a somewhat similar iMacPro with a bit less RAM and haven't had any issues at all.
    It looks like you have a lot of stuff using bits of memory though.

    After Affects aerendrcore is using a lot of memory.

  • Hmm alright thanks, will try and troubleshoot some more but this still persists. I have over 65GB of free memory so I don't see how that could be an issue.

  • Hugo van den Doel One good test might be to create a New User Admin account since a lot of the background tasks might be user specific. See how it performs in a new fresh user admin account.  It's not always memory but tasks taking up processor time which can slow response.
