Audio stopped working on screenflow 9

I usually use screenflow for most of my editing tasks, and today I can't hear the audio from any video I add to edit. I can hear videos fine on youtube or when the same videos play with no audio in screenflow via quicktime. I also see the audio soundwaves showing in the screenflow editor but there is no sound. Please send any tips you have on resolving this because I have no idea how to edit clips I can't hear!

    I'd like to help but I'd need more information. ScreenFlow hasn't changed it may mean you change your monitoring or, maybe updated the macOS. There's no information about your Mac or how you have the audio configured for monitoring so it's hard to make suggestions.

    Make sure the meters are moving in ScreenFlow and make sure the headphone icon isn't disabled.

  • Thanks! The meter is working and showing that it detects sound, and the microphone icon is not disabled. What other questions would you need to know to answer this? I'm using a Macbook air and its on the latest version of iOS CraigS

      Feyisola Ogunfemi Please make sure you have the computer set to internal speakers to test. Don't use Bluetooth or USB. Reboot the computer and test.

  • My macbook settings all show the built-in speakers, and I also never use headsets on this machine. Are there other things to test?

      Feyisola Ogunfemi I'm going to need screenshots.
      If you can see the waveform and the audio meters move in ScreenFlow and you have monitoring enabled in ScreenFlow and your system is sending to your built-in speakers it should work. If you have a third party program hijacking the audio that could cause an issue.
      Make sure you're on ScreenFlow 9.0.7 but that shouldn't make a difference as it works on Monterey.
