iOS as a Video Camera!

Please forgive this if it's been asked before - sure it would have been but my searching resulted in hundreds of listings and I can't find it!

Is there any way to set an iPhone camera to be used as an input source - as in - in the list of available video cameras?

I want to record from that camera as it's better quality than the in built Facetime camera.

(Edit: should add I use ScreenFlow 10.0.5)

Thanks - Pat

One method is to look for a third-party app that presents a clean output and use the camera while using iOS Devices option.
Another is to use Reincubate Camo Studio (the basic version is free but limited to 720p) and ScreenFlow will see Camo Studio.

  • FYI, with macOS Ventura and iOS 16, this will be possible to do without any additional software/hardware. The continuity mode works with Screenflow 10.

Dave Kimura Great for reporting that. What Mac model?
We'd need to check both Intel and Apple Silicon.
