CraigS In the meantime, I restarted the machine, it's worked fine. ThanksThat can be the case with Catalina and permission to access some functions. You're welcome of course.

I have the same problem (downloaded trial version):
1. Running Catalina 10.15.4
2. Camera authorised
3. Camera sees me:
4. Press record and...
5. Shutdown mac and restarted. No change.
6. Uninstalled repeated procedure. No change.
7. Tried iPhone as a camera - that recorded, but screen recording did not function.
It looks great software, and I hope to get this resolved. Ways forward please...
Thanks Craig

I'm having the same problem. After upgrading to Catalina I tested with Screenflow 6.2. I received the above error. I gave permission for Microphone, Camera and Screen Recording. Same issue. So I upgraded to Screenflow V9.0.3. Same issue. I've tried stopping, restarting, rebooting. Same issue. Please help.
As I was reading the above comments I noticed that Screenflow 6.2 is still listed in my Applications. Should I try uninstalling that and then rebooting?

CraigS Yes, I noticed that. When I originally installed it I had the old version still out there. After reading this post I deleted both versions, rebooted and reinstalled the new version of Screenflow 9, indicated by the new icon, which has changed with Screenflow 9. I still have the same problem. Any other ideas?

Hi,
Screenflow 9.0.5 on BIgSur 11.1, new M1 MacBook Pro.
Audio, camera and screen recording are allowed under security preferences. Checked that the correct version of Screenflow is the one allowed. Tried unchecking, checking again, deleting from the list, adding it again, rebooting... Still, when I try to record the desktop, it says it is not allowed.

took your multiple monitor tip and disconnected my secondary monitor & it looks like the problem went away! Is this a known bug?No. Access should be for all monitors.

not sure about admin accountThis might be the issue. A non-Admin account might not have access to a monitor after reboot. Please confirm you are using an Admin account or test in an Admin account
