Wirecast Go connection issue

CraigS Hi Craig.

How can I send the video feed from an iPhone to Wirecast desktop?
Wirecast 14.0.4
Wirecast Go 2.2
Windows 10 Pro 64

I found a tutorial on this website, but when I have to press 'stream' to send the video to Wirecast, then it is asking for a rtmp server. I don't want to stream to a rtmp server using Go, I just want to send the video feed to Wirecast. How can I do this?

  • Thank you, Craig.

The thing is that I am having that same issue of the other thread. I am getting a black screen on Wirecast desktop. So I thought that maybe I have to press the stream button (like it says on that tutorial I found), or maybe I was missing something else.

I did enter the IP on the Wirecast shot settings. I noticed it shows the resolution as 720p but no video. I have the phone with Wirecast Go connected to the wifi and the PC is hardwired to the switch, but both are on the same network.

Victor Nunez You may need to reset the Network Settings on your iPhone.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

I'd also recommend turning the phone completely off and on again.

In the screenshot I posted it shows status and datarate. There's no resolution setting displayed.

  • I have this issue too. I’ve faced this several times since I have used Wirecast (for about 1-2 years). There are 3 variations: 1: sometimes it works properly. 2: often the iPhone shows up in the sources list, but in the preview it only displays the “edge of the scale “ (720p/1080p) and shows a black screen, (sometimes with colored stripes running on it). 3: Even the iPhones are not showing up under the iOS cam. sources. I always use the same equipment, with the same configuration but I still can’t make any context.

    Any idea?

    Update to Wirecast 14.1.
Update to 2.2 Wirecast Go (you may want to delete and reinstall to ensure it's been updated. Then turn the phone hard off and again to ensure it's been reset).

    • CraigS Thanks for your reply,

All the iPhones are running the latest version of Wirecast Go, but on my mac I have an older version of Wirecast than the 14.1. (12 or 13)

is it possible that this is the only problem?

Is there anything else to try before update to 14.1 ?

Andor Kocsis We made significant improvements in Wirecast Go connectivity to Wirecast in 14.1.

Resetting the network on the iPhones can help in some cases.

Andor Kocsis Yes we fixed the connectivity issues with 14.1 so it more reliably detects the Wirecast Go IP address and video signal.
