15.0.3 will not play .mp4 video from stock media downloads

just updated from 15.0.0 to 15.0.3.  When I add a stock media .mp4 file from the in-program downloader I get a message that says "Wirecast was unable to open the media. It is not a type that Wirecast can import."

When I use 15.0.0 I do not get this error message.

What's the fix?

      CraigS Mac Big Sur 11.6.8 and it happens on any video file I try downloading from the stock media site

      Post Up It sounds like you have a problem with your system if it's any file. We'd be flooded with reports if this were the issue. 

      Wirecast 15.0.3 on 11.6.8.
      Works as expected.

      Post Up So there's nothing about updating 15.0. to 15.0.3 that would cause this. 

      I'd suggest creating a New User Admin account and testing in the new account as you may have a user account issue.

    Ok I made a new admin account and you are correct that 15.0.3 works as expected.  Can you give me some suggestions as to how to fix this on the correct user account?  I used appcleaner and removed 15.0.3 including prefs and library docs, then re-installed but I'm getting the same error.  Same error occurs whether I'm using an existing wirecast doc or a new, empty doc.

    UPDATE:  changed my stock media download folder from it's old place (external drive) back to the ~/documents folder and it works.  Changed back to the external HD and error message returns.  Perhaps this is a permissions issue with the external drive?

    That's quite possible. Perhaps check that Wirecast has Security & Privacy permissions for both Full Disk Access and Files and Folders.
