How to capture bluetooth audio from laptop

Currently using latest version of Wirecast on a Windows 10 base computer. We use a Windows 10 laptop for Powerpoint presentation only that screen connects thru hdmi Cat 5 to 3 LG Smart TVs. When there is a video to play through it, our current audio jack is bad on the laptop so I cannot use the audio out from laptop. This currently goes to the mixer to play on Desktop Presenter through Scarlett Focurite into the base computer. I have no way to play audio to stream to Youtubers without humming from bad audio jack in laptop. I purchased a new laptop with Windows 11 and will not connect to tv's. My question is.. if I use Bluetooth to play from the laptop, how can I get the audio from it into Desktop Presenter output to live-streaming? I tried every source imaginable to get audio through.

Will a Bluetooth mixer solve this problem without having to purchase a new computer? How can I get Powerpoint to smart tvs to play audio from the videos within?

Thankyou

Kelley Beck

There are some things not clear in your workflow including some the reasoning behind it.

Why are you doing this rather than using HDMI distribution amp?
HDMI should carry audio as well.

That would normally be for headphones or inexpensive speakers. You should be using HDMI to carry both video and audio.

Sorry but I don't understand this. If you're using two computers why not go Remote DTP into the Wirecast computer and then use MultiViewer out to 3 LG TVs?

Bluetooth audio out is only useful for limited audio monitoring and even then not a great choice given the processing latency compared to the video. This is why people don't even use Bluetooth to monitor cameras in the field.

In my opinion, it would create even more problems.

  • Thankyou for your reply. We have 3 LG's hooked together thru Cat 5 and HDMI out from box goes into laptop to present PowerPoint on the tvs. Would like to eliminate laptop but main computer we stream with Wirecast from doesn't recognize tvs.  Multiviewer I don't think will recognize tvs. How else can I get tvs up with ppt thru Wirecast?

If the TVs support HDMI then Wirecast can send video and audio to the TVs. It's actually a very common workflow. People often send Wirecast to TVs in "overflow" rooms when there's no room in the main venue. Generally, Wirecast can use any monitor or TV that can be used by a computer. Multi-Viewer can support multiple simultaneous monitors if the computer had the GPU resources to support that.

  • Ok..was able to get tvs synced on on main computer and not using laptop... I have 2 monitors..main has wirecast, the other extended display is for powerpoint only. When the minister uses the clicker to click to next slide, I have to have PPT opened on main display and have to curser on it in order for next slide to go to next...then click on presenter shot in wirecast..so if I have a live camera shot, when he clicks, I have to curser on ppt on main display, then click on presenter..its a 3 step process now where as before when I had the laptop, I just had Presenter on laptop and put usb for clicker in laptop and it would just display it automatically on wirecast computer. I have fb live and YouTube on one Wirecast and Twitch on another. Tonight I put all 3 on one so I don't have to click on the two screens..which is why you see it in the picture. This was service tonight and redid afterwards, eliminated a Wirecast document..but still have ppt issue.

Kelley D Beck I wonder if a Streamdeck (programmable buttons) would help.
