Audio doesn't sync and Capture scratch disk

I have recorded a few screencasts and I can hear the my voice gets cut off sometimes. I mean some words are not heard entirely, so the last syllable gets cut off. And the audio and screenrecording doesn't sync. It seems like the sound is before the screencast, that's what I notice when editing (not in real time).

I have a MacBook Pro from 2015 (8GB RAM).
Dual Core Intel Core i5
2,7 Giga herz cpu
Mac OS big Sur 11.5.2
Audient iD14 audio interface
Screenflow 9.0.7

I have my capture scratch disk on a pretty old USB external drive (LaCie). Is that a bad idea? Or is my Mac to slow?

Thanks for any clues!

  • It's possible the capture scratch throughput might be an issue given it's USB.
Do test with the internal drive assuming you have reasonable free space.

It's certainly possible that an external source source could be slightly offset from a screen recording as they are different signal paths.

Keep in mind development has stopped with version 9 so you may want to test with trial of version 10 to see if this is improved. Any fixes that would happen would be in that series or later.
