Wirecast input hardware

I have been using NDI successfully bringing in video from a Mac laptop across my network into my main MacBook Pro which runs Wirecast Pro. However I just worked with a new client where I needed to bring NDI screen captures of Zoom speakers from three separate HP laptops into my main Wirecast machine. I have a gigabit connection and two of the NDI feeds froze mid-show. Hitting the reconnect button on each network input in Wirecast didn't solve the problem. So in the future I would like to hardwire those three laptops as direct inputs into my main MacBook Pro. What hardware is recommended for making that a reality?

  • It's important to know which MacBook Pro you're using as the Thunderbolt and USB buss configurations are important factors. Epiphan and Magewell make very good HDMI to USB3 devices. Some would use a Blackmagic Decklink card with multiple HDMI inputs in a PCIe to Thunderbolt 3 chassis. This can give you four inputs on a single Thunderbolt port.

  • thanks. These are the specs for my MacBook Pro:

    MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)

    2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

    64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
