Wirecast 15 does not work with my Streamdeck XL anymore
Hi, i just updated my Wirecast 14.2.1 to Wirecast 15. Unfortunately this upgrade does not work with my actual streamdeck configuration anymore. I tried to upgrade the streamdeck software as well but this did not fix the problem nor did a rollback. So i uninstalled Wirecast 15 and reinstalled the Version 14.2.1 and everything worked fine again. Then i did the upgrade again and streamdeck support has gone again. Only the Clear all Option works and in the streamdeck configuration i see that the main communication from WC to streamdeck is ok as the Main layers are shown within the shot element. Ah just to notice - i'm on a mac and catalina.
Any help available?
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Carsten

Thanks Craig!
I did all you mentioned before but that did not do the job. After uninstalling the Plugin and reinstalling it in the Streamdeck Shop it worked again. Seems like there is no versioning available in the streamdeck so it recognizes the installed version of a plugin.
Anyway - now it works again - that makes me happy!
Thanks a lot and all the best!

I'm also having a problem with this. I just moved from a Windows computer running Wirecast to a new Mac Studio. With my Streamdeck XL I cannot set any shots or multi-shot by name. The dropdown that previously would appear with the list of shot names isn't there in the Streamdeck software. No names and no clear layer. I'm on Mac Ventura 13.0 with Wirecast 15.1.2 and newly installed Streamdeck software and Wirecast plugin (1.4). I've tried reinstalling the Streamdeck software, updating the Streamdeck XL firmware, and the uninstalling/reinstalling plugin but still don't have names.

If you're still having the aforementioned issues, it's worth reinstalling the Streamdeck plugin again. Please only connect the Streamdeck plugin directly to the Mac Studio and never through a hub or dock. Also you may need to check the port you're using given it could be a TB3 port or USBC port. It shouldn't make a difference but it may.
Also please read

Thanks Craig for those suggestions.
UPDATE: After troubleshooting for a while I realized that the Streamdeck wasn't working with ANY app commands, not just with Wirecast. It would display a yellow triangle when a button was pushed and it didn't control anything. I was slow to realize that because I normally only use it for Wirecast control. I installed some other plug-ins and none of them worked.
I contacted tech support at Elgato for the Streamdeck and we talked through additional troubleshooting without a resolution. I was plugged directly into the Mac Studio without a hub, I tried switching cables, reinstalling the Streamdeck software and plug-ins again, and I updated to 13.1. I moved the Streamdeck back to the Windows machine and it worked fine there. I checked the security and accessibility settings in MacOS too but couldn't find anything to allow there for Streamdeck access. The Elgato support tech asked me to run an app they provide (Mac Reporter) to collect information about the system and Streamdeck and send it to their support team.
When I tried to run Mac Reporter, it asked me to install Rosetta. I installed and restarted, and on restart there were multiple popups asking for access for StreamDeck to be able control system events and Wirecast, and then other popups for accessibility permissions once I tried some Streamdeck buttons.
After that, the Streamdeck has been working fine with Wirecast. I think the issue was that I needed Rosetta installed so the Streamdeck software could connect properly to apps and MacOS, and request permission to connect and control apps, but the Streamdeck software never had a popup or any other indication that it needed Rosetta, and never asked for that access.
Since it's a brand new Mac this was the first time it needed Rosetta. Seems to be good now.

My hunch is that like the original Rosetta, Apple will retire Rosetta at some point in the future with a macOS update.
