Audio dissolve in nested clip does not play in Timeline?

I have a nested, edited clip that I am placing in the final Timeline for output today.  The nested clip is quite simple, but includes one small section that is time accelerated, and an audio dissolve.

The audio dissolve does not play at all in Timeline.  The audio just abruptly ends where the fade also should end.

Is there a known issue with audio fades on nested clips?  Or any way to solve this?  I have to output this project this morning in the next few hours so I don't have a lot of time to troubleshoot this.  If all else fails I'll just place the nested clips on the timeline and rework whatever I have to, but I would much rather the nest just work properly.

Thanks!

Have you updated to ScreenFlow 9.0.7?

Please post a screenshot so someone might be able to recreate the issue.
Perhaps the accelerated clip is part of the issue. Can you test with a clip running at normal speed for comparison?

  • I was on 9.0.6, didn't know there had been an update.  I'll check it with this version.  Had to meet my deadline this morning so worked around it by just taking the audio clip from the nest and placing it on the timeline and doing the fade there.  But I'll see if it still happens in 0.7

  • No change with 0.7.  Also the nested audio waveforms display inconsistently on the main Timeline.  Some clips have them, some don't, I don't see the pattern there.  This is the only clip that has this problem, I have another audio fade in another nested clip and it's fine.

I don't know what screenshot I could post... an image of my timeline won't show anything meaningful.  What exactly would you want to see?

Jonathan van Clute Please test in a new document. We'd need to know how to make a nested clip that matches yours which is why we need a screenshot. If it's only one clip that has the issue then it may involve an issue with a specific clip involved. We can't troubleshoot that unless we see it though.

  • I see.  Well I could send you the project file if you want.  Honestly I've already moved on to the next thing and don't have time to go back and try and intentionally recreate this.

Jonathan van Clute If it was only that clip combination and you haven't seen it again then perhaps it was an oddity. if it happens again though we'd certainly would be willing to look at the project.
