Busy Spinner Won't Go Away

I was just reviewing a narration I had added, and moving text clips around to sync-up with the narration.  I had just tapped the spacebar to stop the playback so I could make an adjustment, and the scrubber stopped, the video stopped, but the narration kept playing, and I got the spinning beachball.

I noticed activity on my backup drive, and checked and determined that Time Machine was doing a backup, so I figured once it ended I would get back control.  No such luck.  The backup has ended, the beachball is still spinning away.  And as I was writing this, I seem to be getting another backup... already?

I have multiple desktops on my external monitor, and only the Screenflow desktop has the busy cursor.

The latest TM backup has finished, but SF is still locked up.  I guess I'll have to force quit it, and hope it recovers data when I restsrt.

Anyone else had any conflict with Time Machine backups?

  • Kudos to Screenflow for its recovery of data, as after a force quit, on restart I was prompted regarding recoverable data, and all of my data has been recovered.

JOHN HOWARD Good to hear. We may be making further improvements to recovery in the next major update.
