Very loud pop sound when jumping around in editor

When I jump around in the editor, I often hear a very loud "pop" sound (the volume spikes). I'm using the Smooth Volume Levels and the Remove Background Noise features on my audio tracks -- not sure if that's related. This is really hurting my ears.

I'm using ScreenFlow 7.3.0

  • If it's not in the recording it may be a monitoring issue. Try removing the filters and see if it has an impact.

Do update to the current version 7.3.1.

  • I am having this issue on version 10.  It's not an issue after exporting, but I'd like to be able to listen to the effects as I'm editing.

Leah Finch I'm not sure I understand the issue. As you can see it hasn't been reported in years.

You should provide enough details and examples that someone could reproduce. It's entirely possible issue is with your monitoring hardware for example.

    • CraigS thanks for your reply. When I have smoothing on, there is a loud pop at the beginning of each audio region upon playback.  When smoothing is off, the popping goes away.  It happens when I playback through the headphone jack and also laptop speakers.  I don't use an audio interface.  I'm running Mac OS 10.15. Video attached that demo

Leah Finch Given that looks like a phone recording it's hard to determine the specific circumstances. The interface is hard to see in detail. Can you do a screen recording with audio?

It's not clear what you mean by "region."  Please describe in a way someone could recreate the issue. If the developers have to guess they may not be able to reproduce the issue. It must be very clear to them in order to investigate the fix.
